graveyard pt ii

You awaken in a darkened theatre.
In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays everything that's currently happening in the castle, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish. Under each seat is a sleeping mask and noise-cancelling headphones, in case you'd like to take a break from watching the show.
Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.
If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.
Past the hall is another door, this one wooden and seemingly decayed. If you go inside, you'll find a fairly simple, wooden room, that is empty except for a very large machine. It is difficult to tell what the machine is for; it has a touch screen that appears to be a control panel, as well as a large open space that seems to be part of the machine, but the machine is dead and won't turn on no matter what you do.
Still, at least you aren't alone here. You have your fellow players, as well as a few guests to keep you company.
Oh, and one more thing. At midnight following each execution, once all those who've died that week have woken up, a video will begin to play on screen.

When she wakes up, and it stops, she doesn't know where she is or what happened or where it went, but she claps her hand over her mouth and shakes for a few minutes, gasping for breath.
It probably isn't a good idea to approach her during this, but after a few minutes, she's slowed down enough to talk.]

Anyone who might glance toward Peko at this moment might see one of her rarer expressions. A smile. This is the closest to an expression of pure, intentional happiness that you'll ever get from her.
Apollo has somewhat redeemed himself in her eyes, and even though he can't hear her, she still can't help but say,]

Sunday Discussion
In less than seven days we are getting out of here. Several significant repairs have been made to the machine which is going to make sure all of you come back to life the way Kaoru and I were resurrected over three years ago, because it is the same machine. Many of you have guessed this is "the servant's wing"; while technically correct, it is the servant's wing of our own set, not yours. For this reason even if we were able to simply walk out (very difficult to do when you are dead) we would be trapped in an abandoned, haunted mansion and Halloween isn't even here for almost three months.
If we were to rely solely on the machine in the servant's wing of the castle, on the other had, we would be subject to the kind of dramatic finale that made season 47 so very popular in the first place: Picking a limited number of people to revive and running for our lives, a process Rin unfortunately can testify is extremely unfair and as an outcome generally unacceptable.
We have been completely calm and confident in our ability to eventually escape because we had a reliable inside man working as the host, this being "Stiles" Stilinski. We have been distressed about his death because he is our friend. His position was fatally jeopardized due to the escalation of an overwrought hostage situation which no members of our team had been able to anticipate, and so another member of our team had to replace him to prevent the production's - completely plausible - execution of all surviving contestants. This person was Gundam Tanaka, whom Fuyuhiko and Peko will also be able to attest is a classmate of theirs possessing eccentric but completely reliable character, as distressed as I am that the direct involvement of another close friend has become necessary. We require, and will receive, additional external assistance to reunite with the eleven players who are still in the game.
There has been some confusion as to whether we have been working as a team. In doubting my teammates, by proxy, you doubt me. At this very moment, we are all still on camera. Our ability to communicate with the living has been even more limited than our ability to speak freely with the dead, meaning that we are all for the most part acting out plans decided in true privacy, far in advance, with only so much information on what torments our enemies wished to unleash, and our primary communique was utilized to coax Kouha into concealing his full situation until now, which should itself be a compelling endorsement. [Looks at him apologetically WITH A DIFFERENT PLAYER WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO APOLOGIZE TO HIM PROPERLY...]
I came in here only knowing Spain had been captured and Kaoru would be playing a very difficult role. I have been very pleasantly surprised by twenty-five complete strangers. [Can't count Rin, Feferi, or Eridan in that category! She gives all of them a meaningful glance before continuing, though Eridan makes it hard being comatose in the corner.] An ending gets its value from a beginning and a middle. We have played our parts to create dozens of episodes of "quality television" and set the stage for something survivable. All of us have worked very hard to get where we are now.
Fortunately, we will all be staying safe here for the next few days. Our delicate surroundings will remain intact. We will be well-fed, maintain high morale, and present a united front when we see the rest of our friends again, because the producers are going to make this week very difficult for them. As such, there will be no distribution of sponsorships this evening.
Now, does anyone have suggestions for alternative group activities?

[Chizuru has been listening quietly and thinking it over.]
Um - what are we going to do about... [Is Marlowe still here? She's still here, isn't she? Chizuru is totally not-so-subtly glancing in her direction.] That is, I know that we can all trust each other, but...

Monster World Session: Part II
Since stats are irreverent, you guys can make your characters whatever you want, just make sure they fit your typical western fantasy setting, okay? And try not to create too much background story that might effect the world or other characters too much. [He gives Rapture a pointed look. After Ryou's finished explaining, he sits back and lets everybody make their characters. Once they've turned in their sheets he nods and begins. The "gameboard" before them is another drawn out map, but this time he's used empty candy boxes as pieces.]
Once upon a time, in a far far away land there lived a beautiful Princess. The land of Man in great harmony under the Princess's rule, but then one day a shadow loomed over the land, icy showers rained down from the skies and suddenly, the Princess was gone. Magicked away to another castle in the distant land of Orcs, she'd been kidnapped by the traitorous of all men, the Dark Master!
In the town of Sennen, our adventurers meet before they begin their journey. The swamplands of Nazo and its perilous creatures await just outside; once they leave, there's no turning back.
((ooc: this post is closed to austria, athena, rin, and rapture.))

[She turns in her character sheet:
Name: Sarah
Species: Dragon
Age: 1,800 (18 in dragon years)
Sarah the Dragon is a student at Dragon University majoring in human studies, and studying abroad in the land of Man. As a human studies major, Sarah is fluent in human languages! Her biggest challenge is she's still trying to adapt to the cultural barriers she faces in human society, because dragon society is far more advanced. But she is willing to help her new friends rescue their princess, even though in Dragon society, the idea of hereditary monarchy is seen as outdated.]
Okay, what do I do? Do I just start being a person? Do I have to roll the dice?

So she's just. Watching the screen, a two red hair-ties in her mouth as she pulls the brush through the hair that she'd let down from its customary braids before sleeping the night before, then starts braiding it with quick, efficiently practiced motions.]

Nobody has died on screen today, so he's trying not to think about the dangers they're facing. They'll be safe, and they'll get out here...]

THURSDAY DISCUSSION
[He stands up, addressing everyone in the graveyard.] Sorry guys, we would have told you this earlier, but...[Waving vaguely at the ceiling.] Cameras everywhere, y'know? If the producers caught wind of how we were really planning on getting you all out of here, they would have done whatever they could to sabotage it. But it should be too late by now.
[He gestures at the machine out in the wooden room.] The thing you have to know about these revival machines is that they can only revive a limited amount of people. You can choose who you want to bring back, but you have to leave behind the same amount of people as the number of players who were killed - not executed - in the game. That's just how they work. In this round, that'd be ten people who'd be left behind and permanently dead.
That's why we've been working on fixing the machine out there. It'll be able to revive the remaining ten. But there's a catch - what we'll be reviving is going to be based on back-up data from your original season. That's where the rest of our group has been - they've been out trying to obtain the back-ups. Basically, if you're revived using the machine here, you'll remember your original season but you won't remember what's happened during this one. You might also be missing memories from any time that's passed in your life between that season and this one, but...they really like fucking with timelines here, there's a good chance you'll be able to keep them too.
Anyway, that's what's going on. [He shoves his hands into his pockets.] It actually might not be permanent, there might be a way to restore your memory of this season once we get out of here, but I'm not going to make any promises I can't keep. You can also bring back stuff from the graveyard into the real world, so if anyone wants to write notes to themselves that they want to remember, I've got pen and paper on me.
Aoi, Freud, and Eridan should all be revived using back-ups, it'll give them a better chance than what they have now. Same with Marlow, because trust me if she gets away, you do not want her remembering your names and faces. So that leaves six more.
sure is self-tag up in here
