It was a theory. There are only so many blades in this castle, ja? And the only people who arrived with an edged weapon are Frauleins according to the cards, and I'd hate to think the killer was any of them. [He wipes a finger down the the sword and shows the dust to Spain.] But it looks like I was wrong anyway.

( He comes over to see, )

I assumed we were looking for a smaller weapon since Feferi said he was stabbed a lot in the chest. A sword this big would be pretty awkward.

( Unless there was something complicated going on here. )

Oh? I'm no expert on blades, but wouldn't it be more convenient to have a weapon with a longer reach? That way, you wouldn't get as much blood on you, ja?

He considers himself pretty skilled with swords but that, amigo.
)

... Did you kill him or did you learn this in court?

( Just. Covering his bases. )

[Not sure if he should be looking insulted or amused here, wow Spain!!]

I've never held a sword in my life, but it's simple logic that a longer weapon should give you more distance from the body. And while swords certainly aren't a common weapon in the cases I've worked, knives are, so I know a little something about how bloody the killer should be if they used a shorter blade.
