Terrace - 8:15 PM

[There will most likely be some weeks where the body will be difficult to find. This is not one of them.

Anyone emerging from the main stairs to the third floor at this time will see Kouha Ren's body propped up on one of the seats in the terrace. There's no chance at all that someone might mistake him as just sitting down, thanks to the enormous amount of blood staining his torso.]

[You know what Feferi was expecting when she woke up this morning? Not this. She rushes over to Kouha.]

Hey, are you okay? [That's a lot of blood, but she's a troll, to be fair, and she's not totally sure how humans work in that regard.]

[bloomnobly]

[ Yuyuko, coincidentally, is nearby, and the flash of red catches her eye quite easily as the passes.

She lets out a shrill scream, though she tries to mute it with her hands for the sake of Feferi's ears. ]

...h-he...no. No, this can't...

[Yeah, he's pretty clearly dead.]

[derepressed]

[The commotion draws Chizuru out from the Dragon Wing - there's the sound of a door slamming and then frantic footsteps as she runs down the hall.]

Is someone-- Is--

[Then she pales when he sees him.]

Oh no...

note Feferi would have been coming upstairs since I can't read OTHERWISE IT'S THE SAME

[RIP Kouha. She nudges his body a couple of times before she's convinced--is the body still warm, or has it gone cold?]

He's definitely dead.

[The body is still warm and bleeding. It doesn't seem like rigor mortis has set in yet either.]

You think, grey one?! [ Yuyuko snaps momentarily, before suddenly sombering down again, and tentatively approaching, to at least see what the state of his body is like. Wounds...? ]

[She doesn't speak - as Feferi nudges the body and Yuyuko looks for wounds, Chizuru looks at Kouha's face. Are his eyes open? Closed? What was the last thing he was looking at before he died? It's hard to look right at him, but someone has to bear witness... he's not the body, he's a person.]

[whup another arriving on the scene due to the commotion--IS THAT A GD UNICORN WHY]

Wh. . .what the hell?!

[Really pale, but checking out the body...]

[His eyes are closed. There's a great deal of blood on his clothes so it's difficult to tell from afar what happened, but if Yuyuko examines him up close, she'll find that he seems to have been stabbed multiple times through the chest.]

FOYER - 8:20 PM - INVESTIGATION START

[In the foyer, the grandfather clock begins to chime. The tone is far deeper than the regular hourly chime, and it chimes thirteen times.

The players have discovered the body of Kouha Ren. The investigation of his death has begun.]

[Feferi looks around the immediate area, though she doesn't stray far. Any sign of footprints given all the blood, or maybe a murder weapon?]

He can't have been dead for that long.

[Are they sword stab wounds? He said his sword was missing...]

[ She takes a deep breath, rolls her sleeves up, and reluctantly examines him closer up. She wasn't any stranger to violence, but seeing the aftermath of such a brutal killing, she just-- it wasn't something she was used to. She saw the spirits after they died. After they'd been brutalized.

Even though her hands are far too bloody for her liking, she keeps looking. What kind of wounds are they? Clean? Jagged? Made by an ordinary knife, or a sword perhaps? Living with a family of swordsmen for years and years had its benefits, at least in the regard of identifying sword wounds.

It was awful to be so up close to. But she was the princess of the dead, after all. If she could spare someone from having to examine a bloody corpse up close, she would. She didn't know this kid--what was his name? Kou-something?--and so she felt a bit more detached than she probably should have, but. It needed to be done. There wasn't any time to fool around or grieve. Someone had already died. No one was fucking around. Maybe Ryou was right. Maybe she shouldn't have been so optimistic. ]

[Maya's certainly not touching the body, but she's staring right at the wounds as Yuyuko works, biting her lip]

I can't believe it....

[there are folks examining the body, and apollo is grateful for that, but he starts scanning the area--looking for any signs of a struggle, misplaced furniture, or if the body was moved somehow]

(Damn it, I can't believe someone would actually go through with it--! But he wouldn't have just sat there and let himself be killed, would he?)

[There aren't any footprints or weapons in the immediate vicinity.]

[Without a blade to compare it to, it's difficult to tell what made the wounds.]

[She brings up one hand to cover her mouth and kneels down so she can take Kouha's hand with the other - turning it a little so she can check under the nails for chipping and check under them for blood, then looking at the skin for bruises, and then checking to see if there's anything on his clothing (besides the blood) that looks out of place. Hair that doesn't look like his, for example...]

[side eyes her once the shock of DEAD BODY wears off--wow she's really approaching it]

--ah! Are you going to be alright? You look pale.

Fey-san, you...may want to step back. [ at least attempting to cover up Maya's view of Kouha's body with her own body. gdi you seem young and innocent, don't look!! ]

[What if she uses her fingers to try to compare to the size of the wounds... You know, without actually touching it]

[She sure is staring right at that corpse.... how weird]

[But once Apollo speaks to her DETERMINED FACE GOES ON]

There's no time to waste, pirate lawyer guy! We need to find whoever got stabby with it!
