You awaken in a darkened theatre.

In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays everything that's currently happening in the mansion, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish. Under each seat is a sleeping mask and noise-cancelling headphones, in case you'd like to take a break from watching the show.

Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.

If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.

There are no other doors in the hall save for the one leading back into the theatre room. There are also no windows; it is impossible to tell where you are and what is going on in the outside world. Any attempts to break out will fail. So in the meantime, why not sit back and enjoy the show?

Oh, and one more thing. At midnight following each execution, once all those who've died that week have woken up, a video will begin to play on screen.

Yuzu didn't show up either; I would have thought the audience hated that whole week if Touko weren't here.

I have to admit I am glad we can finally keep each other company again - it was so frustrating not remembering you in full...! You've forgotten the others, too, haven't you? And that despicable person - I just hope the other two make it out alright.

[The entire encounter has Kanaya uneasy - she's not sure whether her treatment of Kaoru should change, somehow.]

Of course. Unfortunately, I'm a man of opportunity, so I never quite saw my chance to strike, you know? There's a few people I would've liked to knock off, but I ain't one for plannin', especially since even the ridiculous shit people come up with gets solved. It's a disappointment that the one that killed me is exactly somethin' I would've done, and it didn't get solved.

[ He shrugs helplessly ]

But without dwellin' on that too much, since it's a bore anyways, certainly wished you could have. I have a feelin' we probably shared thoughts on most of the people left.

Oh, yeah! I didn't pay too much attention to that part, everyone complained about losing and popularity usually says less about the future than the past. The hidden object in Gun dam's cabinet, too, I'd completely forgotten about...

To be honest, I'd have rather not struck at all. It was simply part of my obligation as a member of the designated killers. [a shrug as well! WHOOPS murder.]

That had to have been a nuisance, though... Being killed like that, I mean. A little lackluster, yes? [shakes his head...] Ah, I have a feeling that you are correct, though. Opinions such as - "Felicia Marlow is self-righteous and disgusting to listen to" or "Susan Sto Helit is intelligent in all of the wrong ways" perhaps?

That's why he had two objects. I wonder which one he got back first, but I'm willing to wait in suspense if that means he'll live to see another week up there.

[Kaoru, on the other hand, seems comfortable. much more comfortable than in any previous conversations, probably. it's a huge weight off of his shoulders to drop most of his falsities.]

Bernkastel said that... It's a shame, but at least Touko made it. [DK LYFE. his nose wrinkles a little at that, though.] I cannot recall the others, no... Not them or the producer. [which he all but spits out. producer!!] I suppose we will see. —Ah, no! [RIGHT THEY HAD BOTH BEEN DEAD BY THE TIME THIS HAPPENED.]

...No, they won't. It was impossible all along... Those in our group who kill cannot retire. Even if we win our incentives, we have to continue playing.

Depends if we're allowed to exercise our powers. I can probably shut up her up with a rune, although her death wouldn't be satisfactory unless it was slow and painful with her well conscious through it.

Ah, excellent. A shame, her reaction would've been rich. You could've tried spreading suspicion onto someone else though, they're finally starting to slowly catch on. Although maybe we'll get a chance to still, post-productions if things pan out.

Understandable. Well, gagging is also an option, plain as it may be. [shrugs... how untheatrical though gosh!!]

Her reaction was disappointing and now I regret not giving her more to stew with, but I suppose there isn't any use pining over missed chances now... Ah, what's that all about, anyway? [since it isn't midnight yet and Kaoru hasn't seen the video.]

She died the same way Altman did. [her resistance to poison did her disservice, but touko isn't going to say that out loud.]

She should, yes. Altman hasn't shown either, strangely, but that's completely out of my control.

[Chest heaving a little, she turns around.]

You shouldn't be here, we all knew that from the first day. I apologize about your friend for what it's worth, but with how people are randomly selected and how designated killers are ordered to focus on deadweight and dispensables, this was never going to be a pleasant run.

[a beat.]

Get some rest. You don't need to hear more from me.

[ His eyebrows raise in light surprise at the first part, but the second just makes him laugh, shaking his head. ]

You got it all right! All the dames worth bein' around are here, in my opinion, exceptin' maybe Alice, but. [ Still too JUSTICE for his tastes sometimes... give him a bad bitch his tastes are the worst ] It's a damn shame you didn't get to tell 'em all a little more. It's kinda sad that every week they talkin' about bein' morally superior as if that matters. Survivin' is all that matters.

I do not find her to be of much interest, to be honest. [because too JUSTICE, yes.] If the delivery of my plot did not rely on the recipient being dim, I would have targeted her for a kill, though. I do apologize that you will not be able to converse with her... [he doesn't look sorry at all.]

Ah, you would think that they would have figured such a thing out already. You know, when Felicia was celebrating Kanaya's death as a moral victory, I'm surprised that I was able to keep from killing her on the spot.

Kaoru doesn't like the idea of being stuck in limbo for another five or six weeks, waugh.] To be honest, I believe that the game will stop once the last of the designated killers has died. I hope, anyway. Two is more manageable than 11...

[and Kaoru laughs right along with that...] True! I guess I should be glad that I can watch the paranoia unfold. Perhaps it will be so strong that they begin to turn against each other? What a good death that would be for the morally just. [can you hear the air quotes clyde]

[Even though he was worried about him before, now Latvia doesn't seem particularly thrilled that Kaoru is here. He drops the drinking straw he was holding into a paper cup about a third filled with cranberry liqueur and hands it forward]

Here, you'll probably want this after... Whatever it is that you actually drank.

[Latvia wants to keep arguing about this that and the other but it isn't going to change what happened or bring anyone back. Instead he opens his mouth as if to say something and quickly shuts it again, before storming off into one of the other rooms]

Detergent. Blood. Expired juice. [he goes the whole 9 yards when it comes to making a realistic presentation, even if he has to induce vomiting to get there...

but he does look up and over toward Latvia after a few seconds, eying the cup before reaching out to take it.]

...Thank you. [it seems genuine enough. after he takes a sip:] I suppose I was not able to prove the good nature of myself to everyone as you had wished.

It was set against us from the very start. I can only hope that they will not suffer much whenever their time comes. [whoever they are, Kaoru certainly feels benevolent enough towards them and simply shrugs after saying that much.]
