[Early this morning, several guests will be awoken before 6 AM by a loud alarm ringing in their room. Lying on their desk will be a telegram, signed The Producer, instructing them to go immediately to the billiards room.

Once they arrive at the billiards room, they will find the door in the back open. They will then be able to proceed into the smoking room, where others await.]

If worse comes to worse, the option is available to us, at least. We could make use of our accessories to transmit codes, as well. [touching the necklace that was put on earlier in the day... actually, doing that gives Kaoru an answer to Kanaya's question as well.]

The man who helped me put this on may be a decent target, should the time come. Clyde was his name. I looked at his card and if the information therein can be trusted, we wouldn't have to worry about any extraordinary abilities. There's Miss Chang as well, but she's so young... [not that Kaoru has a problem with that, exactly, but the group sympathy over such a young child dying could turn the tide against their favor rapidly.]

What about you, can you think of anyone?

Hummm, that Anastasia girl is physically helpless... I also think Mr. Altman didn't even have any noteworthy combat training, and his attitude doesn't seem the sort to stir up much sympathy.

Still, though, I didn't exactly see any particular member of the crowd and think "Ah, yes, what a perfect person to kill." Not even entirely out of disinterest in playing along, just no good options.

I haven't made the acquaintance of either yet. I suppose I should, if they may be potential targets.

[a sigh.] I do agree with that. ...The way I see it, our courses of action are likely as follows, then. [holds up one finger!] Target someone who is physically capable, or someone who would be easy to take down. [and a second] Target a person who no one would get upset over, or target someone who is likely to garner sympathy or allies later on. It is my personal opinion that we should target the largest threats first. The most aggressive people, the strongest individuals, the biggest alliances, those who seem like they would have no qualms with chasing after the prizes...

Getting the threats out early does seem like a good rationale. Especially if they're allowed time to gather up prizes - tools to defend themselves, or worse yet the immunity that would keep them from being advantageous for us to kill at all. That's going to be a tricky mechanic to work around...

It won't be a problem if we can remove them from the game before they have access to such things.

Along that train of thought, then, who seemed the most ambitious to you?

[Rapture's entry hadn't stood out to Kaoru at all so Spain just gets a baffled look and a:]

Phoebe? "Rapture?" ( He has no idea. Honestly, their entire meeting was so confusing he doesn't sound too sure. ) She's... strange? Her card said she was a clever sadist.

( Which really just made her all the more bizarre. )

If she seemed ambitious to you, we may as well remove her early. [SAID CAVALIERLY but really, their choices aren't exactly black and white.]

I haven't met her myself, though, so I can't pass any personal judgment. If no one can come up with a target that's a more immediate threat, shall we agree on her?

If not, I'm certain there are some who might suspect her if her card was brought up.

( ... And a thought. )

Still, if she's cunning enough to have it mentioned at all, it might be best to take care of her before we find out if it's true or not.

( Spain's citizens are at risk here so he's rather serious and no-nonsense. If there's a threat at all, he wants it gone. )

[likewise, Kaoru's tendency to lean toward polite, neutral answers has all but vanished for the time being.]

Then unless anyone else has objections, I suggest that we remove her from the game first, before she has the chance to put her clever brain to use. No one else stands out as particularly ambitious to me, though some may become roadblocks. Miss Sto Helit, for example... Or the young lady I mentioned before. But I would save judgment on either for a time after further observation has been made.

But I suppose the final decision lies with her- [a nod toward Touko] -should she choose to shoulder the first murder. I will lend my aid if necessary though, in the spirit of everyone here aiding each other so that we may all achieve our incentives.

I don't mind, just try to avoid teenagers barring exceptionally good reasons. [more specifically, teenage girls, but she'll not go ahead and make herself sound more questionable than she already has.] Keep in mind that I'm not a fighter, and the cards already mention I'm a magus versed in runes even if I can't do much with them at drastically reduced power.

[she scoffs through a faint smirk at the last part, though.]

The help would be nice, I'm not the type to be modest when push comes to shove.

[TOUKO!! Kaoru looks vaguely perturbed by that but winds up shrugging. avoiding all of the teenagers would be hard if they all need a kill, though...]

If none pose significant threat. However, a roadblock shouldn't be spared just because of their age.

[and then A SIGH.] Let me know if you need the help then, though I will be expecting a return when my time comes. I will say now that I would do better with attack than corpse or evidence disposal.

Certainly. We ought to complement each other decently, if anything. I can take charge of fabricating fake evidence and leaving red herrings too, it'll depend on the context of things.

I'll leave that to you, then. ...But you realize that you will need to take at least one life with your own hands should you desire to obtain your incentive.

Right, but I can be patient when I want to be. [that's a lie, she just doesn't feel rushed right now...]

Rapture. Definitely Rapture. She always acts like she knows just what's going on... which may or may not be entirely true. If I'd known that someone was pretending to be an abductee but actually just was playing with us all - the way Lithuania actually is - I would have suspected her.

Now I'm a little disappointed that I haven't been able to meet her yet. She sounds like quite the individual. [but that's not said with much conviction or care one way or another.]

Is she the best, then? Two of you seem to agree.
