When: 8AM Wednesday morning

[Late Tuesday night, when Kuzuryuu and Nanami enter their rooms, they'll find a note that's been slipped under their door. Nanami's note reads:]

[Written in what is unmistakably Feferi's tyrian-colored ink:]

C)(iaki! C)(izuru and I need your )(elp with somefin. It's very searious business and kind of a SURPRIS-E, so you can't tell Koizuryuu. Meet us in the library tomorrow rig)(t at 8am. I know it's a little early, but it reely can't wait until later. We're counting on you!!!

I thought it would be better to leave this for you...just in case I'm asleep by the time you get back tonight. Can you meet me in the library tomorrow around 8am? It's okay if you're a little late...I just need your help with something. You're the only one who I can ask about this.

[ ...Well, okay, Nanami has no idea what this note is about, but if Feferi and Chizuru want something from her, she's willing to play along. It's sort of weird that they're not asking her in person, particularly given what Apollo talked to her about, but...

...if it's against just her, it's fine. And if it's something Feferi and Chizuru need, then it's fine. So she'll actually show up more or less on time; without a watch, it's hard to time it so she hits the library right at eight, but.

Shifting her backpack to sit more easily on her shoulders, Nanami opens the door to go in, yawning as she does so. ]

[Kuzuryuu, on the other hand, is actually a little late for once. Like a good five minutes or so. He's yawning as he pushes open the door of the library. Because a certain sea troll had him up until the stupid hours of the morning, making him teach her how to make various aquatic origami.]

[Don't ever let anybody say he doesn't care about his friends. Especially when they wind up on the deadweight list.]

Shit, you actually beat me... Whatever this is, it really must be important.

...Huh?

[ That was definitely not who Nanami expected to come into the library, and instead of greeting him, she pouts. ]

Kuzuryuu-kun, you can't be here. Unless...um, is it a double surprise...?

[ or is someone going to murder them both she can't help being cynical at this point... ]

[Okay, ummmmm...something's not right here.]

...the fuck are you talking about? You're the one who asked me to meet you here. What, did you think I'd just say fuck it and not show up?

[ Looking far more awake than she had been, now. ]

...I didn't. How did "I" ask you? A note?

[ Her usual method is just knocking on his door until he answers, or...sitting outside it... ]

[Okay, look, considering when he got back, it seemed sort of believable that Nanami would leave a note. At least...at the time it had. Though judging by the look on his face, it's safe to say that now he realizes there was something kinda weird about that.]

[HE WAS TIRED, OKAY. So many origami fish, Nanami. So many.]

[ She holds up two fingers, and points to the empty air beside them. From the other guys. ]

Feferi wrote it...I thought. "Koizuryuu"...

[ It could still be from Feferi, given their last group meeting, but...looking around a little nervously now and side stepping closer to Kuzuryuu in the process. This bodes ill. ]

...Yeah that...sounds like Peixes, alright. Wait, so...you're sayin' you didn't leave me a note last night?

When have I ever left you a note...?

[ No, she did not do the thing! Unless she sleptwalk and did it, but...why. ]

We live right next to one another. If I really wanted to talk to you, I'd do what I always do.

[AGAIN...IT SEEMED LOGICAL AT THE TIME.]

Never mind, that's not important right now. What's important is the fact that we're clearly being fucked with here. Did Peixes say she was going to meet you in here?

The note said they'd both be here.

[ So, either Chizuru has started to go and needed them out of the way for it or Feferi and Chizuru are messing with them for some reason or...some unknown person is trying to have them here for some reason. Nanami doesn't voice the options aloud, just in case. She's pretty sure Kuzuryuu can reach the same conclusions, anyway. ]

...Should we wait around?

[ If it's Chizuru who needs them out of the way, Nanami doesn't want to get back...in the way. But she's clearly not sure what they should do next, here. ]

I'm not...sure.

[Yeah, no, it's not hard to come to those same conclusions, though he's not really considering Feferi and Chizuru messing with them as an option. They know better than that. Either Chizuru's going and needed to make sure they were out of the way or...]

You didn't happen to check and see if Yukimura was in her room, did you?

[He'd be more slightly inclined to think Chizuru's going if her room were empty right now...]

No...I'm the only one who really has trouble getting up on time, so I figured they'd be here.

[ So now they're stuck on "well what if we fuck this up for Chizuru if she's in the middle of going".

Nanami's suddenly really worried about what would require both herself and Kuzuryuu to be out of their wing at eight am, and her eyes shift to the door again. ]

Um...I guess we could play a round of go fish and then if no one's come by then... [ or if nothing has blown up or they haven't seen a body ] ...we can go and do...something else.

[ Maybe they need to go back to their wing at some point. Nanami just isn't sure, here. ]

Yeah, I...guess. First let's just...look around and see if they're hiding in here, ready to pop out and yell surprise or something. Just to be sure they're not fucking with us...

[Okay, as much as he's ruled that out MAYBE...MAYBE they're just being massive assholes right now. Or maybe Feferi is while Chizuru is off getting her murder on.]

[Are you hiding behind a bookshelf, Feferi?]

I'll take this side, you take that side, and we'll meet in the back, alright?

[ If it's not the other two, this situation is actually dangerous. Nanami heads for the opposite side of the library from Kuzuryuu, beginning to check around herself.

[But okay, Kuzuryuu will check out the left side of the library, peering behind bookshelves and under tables to see if Feferi is hiding anywhere.]

[Please let this not actually be something dangerous. Please no "rocks fall, both Dangans die."]

[Nope, no Feferi in the library.]

[ Oh, okay. Since they're meeting back up at the back of the library... ]

...Go fish, or leave the library? Um...wait, maybe we should check the reading room?

[ Sideways glance again. Please tell her there's not anything in the reading room, Kuzuryuu. ...Although Nanami steps forward in that direction anyway. ]

[He's still over here fucking around with one of the bookshelves. Kuzuryuu, stop that. We're investigating the reading room now.] Might be worth a look. Technically, it's part of the library...though you think they'dve been more specific...

[Rude. But, okay. He's giving up on finding Feferi behind this bookshelf and moving to catch up with Nanami in front of the door.]

...Mhmm.

[ Nanami is trying to tell herself there is nothing in there but their missing friends. Or maybe it's just empty. We just don't know.

Anyway, she will reach out and open the reading room door, stepping inside unless something stops her. ]

[Well, she could step inside, but she'll probably notice that there appears to be two people sitting on the couch first. More importantly, she'll spot a jewelry box falling to the ground off of a bookshelf in the reading room and a grenade rolling out of it.

She and Kuzuryuu will have about five seconds to run.]

[WAIT BUT WHO ARE THE BODIES?! Understandably, Kuzuryuu looks horrified when the door opens, because there are apparently(?) two mysterious somebodies who may or may not be dead and also A GODDAMN MYSTERY BOX AGAIN.]

Nanami, move!

[The smart thing would have been for Kuzuryuu to just start running. Or to just duck to the side so he's out of the way of the door frame. But instead, he moves closer to Nanami and pushes her, hard, to the right. It should be enough to, at the very least, knock her out of the way of the door frame in case any shrapnel comes flying out.]

[ Oh fuck they set off a trap. Nanami has just enough time to think "but the others wouldn't put us in danger like this", although it's a flash and doesn't really register.

Mostly she hears Kuzuryuu's warning and sees the grenade and feels him push her. She reaches out to catch at his arm as he shoves her, hoping to drag him along with her as she falls, but wow APPARENTLY THEY'RE NOT RUNNING AT ALL, THIS CAN ONLY END WELL? ]

Kuzu -

[ Way to waste your five seconds probably, guys. ]

[The grenade goes off! Luckily, they've managed to get out of the immediate blast radius. However, since the door to the reading room was open, they won't escape unscathed. Both of them will be knocked unconscious by the concussive force and have their eardrums blown out for around an hour or so. Kuzuryuu will also receive second-degree burns over his back and be embedded with a few shards of shrapnel. Finally, the blast is close enough that a bookshelf will fall over and land on the two of them.

HAVE FUN GUYS.]

[KUZURYUU REGRETS NOTHING. OR AT LEAST HE WOULDN'T IF HE WERE CONSCIOUS ENOUGH TO HAVE REGRETS.]
