You awaken in a darkened theatre.

In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays everything that's currently happening in the castle, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish. Under each seat is a sleeping mask and noise-cancelling headphones, in case you'd like to take a break from watching the show.

Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.

If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.

Past the hall is another door, this one wooden and seemingly decayed. If you go inside, you'll find a fairly simple, wooden room, that is empty except for a very large machine. It is difficult to tell what the machine is for; it has a touch screen that appears to be a control panel, as well as a large open space that seems to be part of the machine, but the machine is dead and won't turn on no matter what you do.

Still, at least you aren't alone here. You have your fellow players, as well as a few guests to keep you company.

Oh, and one more thing. At midnight following each execution, once all those who've died that week have woken up, a video will begin to play on screen.

( It's like every time his heart beats, he starts to feel happy before the crushing realization of everything that's happened falls down on him and his chest hurts. Repeat repeat repeat. )

[Austria's spike of anger fades away at that.]

[Before abruptly surging again, as she launches herself out of her chair and throws herself at him.]

was not expecting that at all. What the actual hell??? He's too stunned to move. )

I hate you! [She's screaming and she's punching and scratching and doing anything that might cause him the pain he caused her.] I HATE YOU!

Why would you do that to do me?! WHY?! Why would you purposefully make me feel like I was missing something-- LIKE I WAS LESS THAN HUMAN BEINGS AND NEEDED TO BE PITIED?!

Wriggle! And I left her behind because of how worthless and inadequate you made me feel over something you never even meant! You knew all this time! YOU KNEW!

( He’s surprised and he holds out his arms. He’ll try to grab her and stop her and while, physically, he could certainly make her stop, he doesn’t seem to be trying very hard. The hits, he can easily take and he does. The words, however, hurt more.

She should hate him. He hates himself too. He never meant to hurt her. And instead, he manipulated her, played with her heart, and hurt her. Added bonus: It isn't even over yet. Which is exactly why he doesn't try to stop her. She killed him but nothing can equate to how much he was going to keep hurting her.

He takes every single attack and waits for it to subside. When it does, he'll finally reach out to grab her arms and stop her. )

Did I really make you feel that way?

[There were many things that factored into her decision to kill him and sacrifice herself to blow up the door. She wanted to help the designated killers. She didn't want Maribelle to die. She wanted to break the game.

And after experiencing her feelings for Spain, she was afraid of what awaited her at home. Another thousand years alone, always longing for something she'd never have again.

But she'd never had it to begin with.]

W-why...

Why didn't you just say you didn't love me back? Why didn't you say you couldn't love me back?

Why did you lie to me about everything?

( He felt useless. He didn't have a purpose. He meant nothing. He felt like he'd lived centuries and hadn't lived at all. He didn't want to die like that. Damn, even his first game wasn't this bad and you know its serious when he almost considers his first run the good days.

It takes him a moment to respond. It's like he's trying to find the right words. Maybe he's trying to find a way to explain himself. Make up an excuse. Tell a good story. )

I wasn't honest with you but I never lied either. ( He really should just speak his thoughts right now. God damn you stubborn bastard. ) I love...d you so much I--

( His heart aches. He wants to hold her hand right now. He wants to hold her like he used to. Be happy like he was. )

[There's a long silence at Spain's reply.]

[It's not an order. She's not pleading.]

( He'll comply. )

...when did you write that note?

I started Sunday. ( After the lists went up. ) They were... hard... It took me all week.

I started yours first and finished it last on Wednesday.

"In my heart, I knew this couldn't last forever but I decided to spend the moment loving you still."

[It'd felt like stab in the gut when she read those words. Glinda's and Maribelle's tears over them just twisted the knife in deeper.]

What made you "decide?"

[ it's like a reminder to himself right now to be careful. His mouth hangs open for a second like he wants to explain but he answers her instead, ]

When you said you loved me too. [ after he decided there to return her feelings, there wasn't a turning back ] You're so beautiful when you smile and when you're mad and when you play music and when I thought I'd never see you again I didn't want to leave you either. I could have-- should have said something then but...

I was so happy. You made me so happy. So happy I... [his voice cracks ] I hated myself.

I wanted to change for you.

[Austria chews on the inside of her cheek.]

I thought... since you kissed me it would be okay. Telling you something like that, despite how we were different-- or at least I thought we were different at the time.

[If she thought for a moment confessing her feelings was something that would make him upset ultimately she wouldn't have done it.]

It was fun at first; I'd always liked you but I was careful. At least, I tried to be. ( Playful flirting, never being serious, mainting some level of distance even if he did push it once in awhile. ) But whenever I was with you, I was so happy and I could forget about everything. And... I was weak.

( He kissed her. He was happy until he was alone and realized what he'd done. )

And I tried to make things go back to normal but it got worse! ( He was poisoned. ) I didn't feel like me anymore; I felt like a man and... I felt so small. ( And afraid and confused. Without meaning to, he reaches to take her hand and quickly stops himself as soon as he realizes. ) The only thing that felt right was being with you.

I still felt like I was just a man but when I was with you it felt right. I thought-- I wouldn't have minded being one if I could be one with you.

As long as I could have, I would have done anything to keep loving you. ( He would have killed someone in the game if he'd thought she'd forgive him for it. ) I would have done anything just for you.

[She almost wants to let him take her hand, but he recoils. Austria shifts her glance as he continues to talk.]
