graveyard

You awaken in a darkened theatre.
In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays everything that's currently happening in the castle, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish. Under each seat is a sleeping mask and noise-cancelling headphones, in case you'd like to take a break from watching the show.
Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.
If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.
Past the hall is another door, this one wooden and seemingly decayed. If you go inside, you'll find a fairly simple, wooden room, that is empty except for a very large machine. It is difficult to tell what the machine is for; it has a touch screen that appears to be a control panel, as well as a large open space that seems to be part of the machine, but the machine is dead and won't turn on no matter what you do.
Still, at least you aren't alone here. You have your fellow players, as well as a few guests to keep you company.
Oh, and one more thing. At midnight following each execution, once all those who've died that week have woken up, a video will begin to play on screen.

[Peko keeps her spot against the wall, though her shoulders slump, and she just looks tired. Apparently taking the week to herself hadn't... helped her trying to think everything over at all, really.
She doesn't move her hand away from her face, even as it starts to shake. It's barely perceptible, but it's there.]
Will there be punishment? For being found out?
no subject
Yeah. That's everyone. As for punishment... there shouldn't be. Only if we revealed the existence of the group. In this case, the others figured it out themselves, so they should be fine.
no subject
[Even if everyone else in the castle suspects them. She keeps her hand pressed against her face as she nods.]
They will be watched more carefully from now on. What happens if they do not kill someone?
no subject
If a week goes by without anyone murdered, then they would all have 'failed'. On the other hand, as long as they try, even if they get caught, they can still prevent the 'fail' incentive from happening. [ Like him.
Which is why this is the worst situation ever, because even if they've been found out, they still have to act to prevent their 'worst case scenario'. It'd be suicide. ]
no subject
[She shakes her head slowly and has to take a deep breath before she can even try to continue speaking.]
It's not fair. That the young master be in such a position without knowing the truth...
[So it is fair for Phoenix though? Jeez, Peko.]
no subject
Phoenix isn't offended by that though, because he understands how she must be feeling right now. ]
None of this was fair to begin with. [ It actually is painful to see them all trying so hard for a 'no kill' week, knowing that it's never going to happen. But there's nothing they can do from here, except... ]
Peko. If there's a week where Kuzuryuu could be in trouble, I'll help you with the sponsorship vote. In return, if either of the other two are in trouble... [ Surely Kuzuryuu would be upset if Feferi or Chizuru were killed?? ]
no subject
[She'd tried to sponsor him so he could regain her, since technically she is an item
peko no. But she thinks it over and nods. She loses nothing by agreeing with him for this, so after a few deep breaths, she finally pulls her hand away from her face to nod more firmly.]Very well. I have no problem with something like that. As long as you understand that my young master must come first.
no subject
He's lucky to have someone like you watching out for him. [ Now that they've settled things on Kuzuryuu and the group, he reclines back in his seat with a curious expression. It's not like this is his first encounter with the mafia, but this kind of attachment... ] How did the two of you meet?
no subject
She stays standing, her arms falling to cradle herself loosely instead of her usual, more firm stance.]
I do not recall our first meeting. I was abandoned by my parents not long after my birth, and picked up by the Kuzuryuu family to serve as the young master's tool.
I have always been at his side. Until now.
no subject
As expected, he raises an eyebrow at 'tool'. So this is the first time she's been by herself then. ]
You've already done what you can to protect him. Have you thought about what you're going to do?
no subject
[There's a pause that makes it fairly obvious that Peko hasn't really given it as much thought as she could. She closes her eyes, then looks to him.]
It doesn't matter. Even if we somehow escape this place and return to where we left... I will be executed there.
no subject
Why's that?
no subject
[One can almost hear the air quotes, her voice quiet and slightly bitter. But if anyone deserves to hear the whole story, it's Phoenix.]
The main difference being... if the true culprit were to get away with their crime, everyone else on the island would be executed, and the true culprit would be permitted to go free.
I wanted the young master to escape. After they voted me as the culprit, I tried to argue that though I was the one who swung the bat which killed Koizumi, the young master was the true culprit, as I am nothing but his tool. But the young master... he refused to accept it. So they determined that I, as the true culprit, was to be executed. I was about to be dragged away...
That is the last thing I remember before coming here.
no subject
When she talks about arguing for the 'true culprit', an expression of surprise flits across Phoenix's face, before it settles on a self-deprecating smile. So she too... ]
I guess my idea wasn't as original as I thought. The only difference is that he couldn't accept what you did. [ That seems to explain something actually. ] I wonder... he tried to argue against Maya being the true culprit too.
1/2
He cannot let someone be killed so he can go free. He would not accept me dying for him, because it...
[she hesitates, her voice catching as she all but hugs herself and looks to an opposite wall.]
It would have meant him accepting that I was nothing but a tool for him. A means to an end. And he refused to do that.
no subject
He has very strong feelings about people being used, you see.
no subject
That explains some things. [ There's a small smile before it fades. ] In this case... it might be an easier pill to swallow to know he wouldn't be doing it for himself. [ He'd be doing it for his sister. ]
no subject
Even still... I do not know if a threat against her would be enough. Revenge will motivate him, but against an innocent person who has nothing to do with her or his family?
I know he is capable of murder, but I am afraid for what would happen to him after... he's too soft for this.
no subject
Nanami will be there to support him when he makes his choice. Feferi and Chizuru too.
[ BUT ONLY UNTIL WEEK 8 APPARENTLY... ]
no subject
I can only hope that will be enough.
[She shakes her head and takes off her glasses, pressing her fingers against her closed eyelids.]
Have you recognized the cruel irony in his position, yet, Wright?
no subject
[ There's so much he can hardly even separate it all anymore. ]
no subject
Even if he escapes this castle, even if he escapes the island... he will have to go back without either mine or his sister's support.
