the theatre

You awaken in a darkened theatre.

In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays everything that's currently happening in the mansion, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish. Under each seat is a sleeping mask and noise-cancelling headphones, in case you'd like to take a break from watching the show.

Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.

If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.

There are no other doors in the hall save for the one leading back into the theatre room. There are also no windows; it is impossible to tell where you are and what is going on in the outside world. Any attempts to break out will fail. So in the meantime, why not sit back and enjoy the show?

Oh, and one more thing. At midnight following each execution, once all those who've died that week have woken up, a video will begin to play on screen.

Backwards! Upside down! Topsy turvy to the max!

Anyway you look at it, it totally doesn't make sense!

[Well, it's not like he could really tell Poland to try. Latvia's trademark shaking had started up again for a reason]

M-Maybe whatever's in that vault will be a clue. H-Hopefully they'll find it soon, it looks like Mr. Stilinski is being pushed to his limit...
notyetlost: (?)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-22 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Poland's legs are bobbing around restlessly while the rest of him tries to stay still-- how have you guys managed stay in here longer than a week without going crazy this is torture to the max.]

Don't they know the answer is like the portrait of Napoleon? How hard is that to figure out?

[Poland really shouldn't talk he didn't even remember who Napoleon was until he opened his giftbag.]

What is Stiles learning in his high school aside from how to get beat up?
balzams: (Uneasy ● Unwanted)

[personal profile] balzams 2013-11-22 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it? I'd been having more trouble solving it than they did...

Well, I'm not exactly sure what the standard of education is these days. Especially... he was attending an American school, wasn't he?

[But he's stopped in his thoughts by a certain reaction to a certain set of evidence]

... Is she being serious? Is she really being serious about this right now?
notyetlost: (what the heck?)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-22 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Honestly Poland only got the last part, he didn't understand the portrait bit.]

Ugh, I like. Seriously need to get him to my place, stat.

[Poland looks up at the screen again.]

Sonia broke the rules... the ratings suck and Rapture Sonia and Spain are popular? What is the heck is that supposed to mean?
balzams: (Uneasy ● Anxious)

[personal profile] balzams 2013-11-22 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Why is Spain popular? He doesn't do anything but sleep...

[Mumbling to himself, but that's not the point right now]

I just can't believe Marlow didn't know we were on a TV show. We were told at the very beginning, unless it's just another fault in her act.

But I suppose it's how the hostess kept track of how the show was doing. I wonder where the rest of the notes are...
notyetlost: (i am rocking this sweater)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-22 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Sex appeal probably. [Sucks to look twelve.]

I wasn't sure if I believed it completely until you guys told me about the rating stipulations but, yeah that is kind of weird on her part.

I don't get how the ratings could have been bombing, we were doing good. [Aside from the occasional unfortunate scapegoating....]

Yeah the fact that they're all ripped up is weird. Like. I don't trust anything found by or on Doris at this point. It could all just be garbage clues staged to lead them to the wrong person.
balzams: (Uneasy ● Unwanted)

[personal profile] balzams 2013-11-22 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... I wonder when that note was written. I remember the trial I was scapegoated, she said the ratings were really high. Were they falling because people weren't getting naked enough?

[He really hopes it isn't because that's a terrible reason]

Besides, the ratings shouldn't be entirely on our shoulders. It's irresponsible for a director to round up a bunch of actors, give them a rough idea of the plot and then tell them to make an award-winning film out of it. The producers should be doing everything they can to improve ratings as well.

If the show's doing badly it's not because we're doing badly, it's because they're inexperienced in television producing.
notyetlost: (booooring)

1/2

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-23 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Sonia breaking the rules was probably when she killed me since designated killers were told to focus only on the lower lists. [But being punished for that makes it look like Lithuania is the mastermind and he's not.]

I can't place the ratings one... unless maybe everyone totally missed me being alive so much they stopped watching.

And I guess Rapture, Sonia and Spain being popular with the audience was probably when they were deciding on rankings one of the weeks.
notyetlost: (shut up)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-23 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Latvia...]

Um... because I'm sure that taking personal responsibility is definitely a priority of theirs after deciding to bring thirty some odd people to a mansion in the middle of nowhere and letting them hack each other to death.

I can totally see all the people jumping at the opportunity to have this mess on their resumes.

Nothing about this was all our fault, these people are insane.
balzams: (Surprise ● Realization)

[personal profile] balzams 2013-11-23 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Well, maybe that was a bit...

But the point still stands! We can hardly be blamed for their poor work.

[But they'll still be blamed anyway]

E-Either way, the rest of the notes might have the clue to the mastermind somewhere... Maybe that's who the advertisers preferred.

Actually, who are the advertisers? It feels like any mention of any kind of sponsor has been obscured.

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-23 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
... [Actually good point Latvia.] Yeah... the placard was smudged...

Maybe if they ask that weird box it'll spit out an answer.
balzams: (Uneasy ● Bad feeling)

[personal profile] balzams 2013-11-23 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
If they actually think to ask that is.

I think they're a bit preoccupied right now.
notyetlost: http://drawr.net/mee_mee_813 (hair twirl)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-23 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
If it's smudging it for us, maybe it'd just smudge it for them too...

[Poland shrugs.] I wonder what the keys in Doris' purse go to though.
aozaki: BUT SHE'S A TOTAL BABE WHEN SHE'S SKETCHY (◆ the snake eats its own tail)

[personal profile] aozaki 2013-11-23 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
[daintily clears throat

HELLO, WHO'S THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY DID AMPUTATION AS PART OF THEIR KILL]

How would you like the cut?
aozaki: (◇ would this face lie to you)

[personal profile] aozaki 2013-11-23 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
[she laughs.]

That description is rather accurate, actually. And I'll be happy with the bonbons, the Europeans make fancy sweets better than the Japanese.

[if sonia is a weeaboo japanophile, touko is an ouiaboo europhile. THIS WORKS OUT.]
speakveryclearly: Kanaya squishes her cheek and looks down with effusive fondness into her lap, unable to hide a scattered glow. (Flattered)

[personal profile] speakveryclearly 2013-11-23 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
[RELAXES ENORMOUSLY!!!]

Please, be my guest.

[SERENDIPITY IS ON THEIR SIDE FOR ONCE.]
aozaki: (Default)

[personal profile] aozaki 2013-11-23 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[HAHA how cute... DK harmony aw yeh]

Please yourself, Kanaya. You're the one offering gifts, did you really think we'd criticize you for your choices?
souredsweet: jackandtink (still water)

[personal profile] souredsweet 2013-11-23 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
[well now it's a real dk party]

It sounds like he's being rationed off as meat when you put it like that. [HAH...] But you're quite an expert with that field already, the choice would likely be best in your hands.
speakveryclearly: Kanaya with faintly upquirked lips and eyebrows at a whimsical Terezi. (Uncertainty)

[personal profile] speakveryclearly 2013-11-23 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Shrug.] It would be nice to not mess up one thing in this game, that's all.
notyetlost: (... oh ...)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-23 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

I think... I would remember something like that happening.

[What is this pain? Is this what an ulcer feels like?]
speakveryclearly: Kanaya glowing and not sure what else to do with herself; with a flat expression, she has just arrived on the scene. (Arrival)

[personal profile] speakveryclearly 2013-11-23 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh she was going to ask Latvia but here's Poland this is even better]

Where are the nations of Earth located, relative to one another, in terms of the cardinal directions? What does the "east" mean in this context?

[Entirely innocent question here]
souredsweet: mewtube (living ghost)

[personal profile] souredsweet 2013-11-23 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[WELL... at least there's no celebratory victory screeching going on yet. Kaoru's been pretty content to watch things unfold from the DK corner, but upon these reveals, one after the other, he's definitely casting Poland a sidelong glance.]
notyetlost: (fwaaaah)

[personal profile] notyetlost 2013-11-23 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
[NO. IT GOT WORSE. IT TOTALLY GOT WORSE.]

в память о торисе лауринатисе?!

[And Poland doesn't speak Russian. Ever.

This is serious.]
aozaki: (◇ would this face lie to you)

[personal profile] aozaki 2013-11-23 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
You can't mess up something you want to do, not when you're not forced to.
