[ She waits until he's gone completely limp in her arms, and even then she doesn't let go, just standing there, breathing hard. ]

I'm... so...rry...

[ She finally lets go and pulls the curtain off; she props his body up so it doesn't fall out of the chair and goes to string the curtain back up. Her hands are shaking badly; it feels like her entire body's gone completely numb and cold. She nearly falls off the chair as she tries to put the curtain back, and when she climbs down she needs a minute to collect herself and hastily wipe at her eyes. She goes through the rest of the motions of her plan mechanically: she rewinds and destroys the clock, she plants the bolt in the wall, and she drops the second letter on the floor.

After that, she pulls Poland's body out of the chair and struggles to set him on the floor in front of the locked set of doors. She searches his body for his keys and tucks them away in her pocket, then she retrieves and sets up the crossbow. Then she pauses over Poland's body, just looking at him, and the only thing that alleviates the 'I'm so sorry' mantra in her head is the fact that in a few days she'll be joining him.

A few moments later, she gets up and leaves the room. She triggers the crossbow and hears the bolt thunk into the lock. She pauses before the door before turning on her heel to slip upstairs. She still has more to do. ]
